Make good tables

“The Church’s approach to an intelligent carpenter is usually confined to exhorting him not to be drunk and disorderly in his leisure hours, and to come to church on Sundays. What the Church should be telling him is this: that the very first demand that his religion makes upon him is that he should make good tables.”

That is an excellent quote. I would love this on a sticker or T-shirt.

Hmm, not sure what church she is talking about. The one I know teaches this:

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men,”
Paul’s Epistle to the Colossians 3:23

    1. I think you’re both saying the same thing 😉

I read her as saying that if we can connect people more fully to the creative image if God within them, then the rest is more likely to follow suit.

Interesting … I didn’t quite take it that way. I took it as more of a community type thing and that the good tables would be where we gathered and broke bread.
